Why An “Apostrophe”?

What’s the deal with the apostrophe?

As the owners of Apostrophe Media, Ken and Kristin O’Connell, we really just wanted to show off the fancy punctuation in our last name.

In Irish history, an O with a diacritical mark symbolizes “descended from”, “son of” or “grandson”. Showing family connection is honorable and heartfelt….and it also makes a pretty sweet logo.

If you have an apostrophe in your last name you know that computers hate you, millennials call is a “comma” and your children will be the last kids in the class to spell their name properly.

Even with all of the apostrophe hardships in life, we have fully embraced ours and slap that thing on pretty much everything we can.
